Salta - Argentina
Perched in Argentina’s remote Calchaquí Valleys, Bodega Colomé is one of the world’s highest-elevation wineries, with vineyards planted from 2,300 to over 3,000 meters above sea level. Founded in 1831, it holds the distinction of being Argentina’s oldest continuously operating winery. In 2001, the estate was acquired by Donald and Ursula Hess, visionary pioneers who saw the potential of the region’s extreme altitude, pure microclimate, and ancient vines. Under their leadership, Colomé defined the “high‑altitude wine” category, producing rare, limited‑quantity wines with a commitment to sustainable practices.
Today, the second generation—Larissa and Christoph Ehrbar—carries forward this legacy, honoring the estate’s heritage while crafting finely detailed, expressive wines that reflect the unique terroir. Beyond winemaking, Colomé is deeply committed to its local community, working alongside employees, neighbors, and partners to create lasting social and economic impact. A place of extraordinary beauty and tradition, Colomé remains a family‑driven estate where passion for the land and dedication to quality come together in every bottle.
