The family Badin has owned and worked 25 hectares of vineyards in the plains to the south of Cormons in the north-east Italy for a significant period of time Bottled wine began in the 1988 when Giorgio Badin, after studies in agronomy, changed the course of the family winery, impressing his own ideas and working philosophy, the knowledge he had acquired.Particularly expert in questions of ampeleography and clonal selections, he also pioneered the use of hyperoxidation during the fermenting process in the zone, achieving in this way wines which were both extremely pleasurable when first released and with en elevated aging capacity as well. The DOC Isonzo appellation, where Ronco del Gelso is located, is particularly known for Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Sauvignon and these are strongly characterized wines in the overall line-up of the estate.
