Mendoza- Argentina
In 1988, renowned French oenologists Michel and Dany Rolland first set foot in Argentina’s Calchaquí Valley, beginning a deep and lasting connection with the country. Their journey led them from Cafayate to Mendoza, where they became key figures in the Clos de los Siete project—a visionary collaboration of Bordeaux‑based winemakers in the Valle de Uco. Within this 2,100‑acre estate, Mariflor is the personal venture of Michel and Dany, named after their daughter Marie. Located along the western edge at the highest elevation (3,300 feet), the Mariflor vineyards benefit from pure Andean meltwater, sandy‑clay soils over pebbles, and a pristine microclimate.
Originally vinified at a partner winery, the Rollands built their own facility—Bodega Rolland—in 2009–2010, designed with 54 small concrete vats, gravity‑flow handling, and meticulous French winemaking techniques. Today, Mariflor produces limited‑quantity, high‑altitude wines that reflect the Rollands’ unwavering commitment to quality, terroir expression, and a deep respect for the land and people who have become their second family.
